Today is ultimate bliss! Like seriously I feel so happy about everything. Maybe it's the hormones :D Sometimes I love it when my period comes. Plus the boyf will be uber sweet to me too.

Woke up super early this morning to meet the boyf. And we went for facial [happy x1] together with korkor & Ade. It was a small beauty parlour with only 4 beds =.= so they were taken up by all of us. Despite the clean environment, lovely ladies, great company; I had a traumatizing experience.

It was my first time doing facial (so noob, don't judge me) so I had lots of blackheads. Like seriously. Alot. I do use Biore pore pack but obviously no effect. The lady who attended to me was so gentle and nice. She kept telling me to ren3 (hang in there) as she was squeezing out all the impurities. Now my face is red & raw & filled with scars ):

Please let me have smooth skin for CNY! (:

Went home in heavy rain. Boyf's mummy was so sweet to bring down umbrellas for us at the bus stop. So loved can [happy x2]! Boyf cooked my favourite healthy lunch of barley, aiyu, gingko & wolfberry. Too bad we couldn't find Isojoy tofu dessert. Korkor & Ade had instant noodles. Plus we ate lots of chips and dips. Omg this onion & bacon dip from Australia is TDF! :D

While eating, korkor let us play his super old school pacman game [happy x3] on the tv! How cool is that! I don't know how it works but basically he connected the console to the tv and we played on the big screen. Really damn old school complete with pixel graphics and di-di-di music.

Ade just came back from BKK and bought me a pair of damn cute shorts [happy x4] and little bag. Put to good use right away (:

After lunch was nappytime (: cos I woke up so early. And when I wakey, it was dinnertime! I was randomly cleaning my stuff when I found these cute keychains [happy x5]. I gave the boyf telling him it was a "couple keychain" but he wasn't fooled. He said "you don't lame la don't even look like a pair! Must be found it at home." Hahaha.

And we wrote messages for kor kor's birthday card [happy x6]. Hope he doesn't see it yet!

After dinner and wash up, boyf made awesome dessert - peach & cherry yoghurt. Damn nice :D Made from fresh peaches and cherries flown in from Aussie! Boyf also delivered bak kwa, mandarin oranges, and kueh lapis to my dad. I think dad finally appreciate something he has done [happy x7]!

Oh did I mention that I won 2nd prize for the recent photography competition I took part in? [happy x8] Will blog more about that soon, so stay tuned!

Last but not least, I think I lost a couple of kilos :P [happy x9]

Yay, I'm blogging 2 days in a row. Here's some updates regarding my job hunt. Submitted 20 applications, received 2 phonecalls, and 1 rejection. No interviews whatsoever follow ups yet. I'm still patiently waiting. Today I went to submit an application for relief teaching. Hope to get it!

I'm not desperate for a job la, I just don't feel productive lazing around at home all day. Yes, I do have tons of things to do. Like uploading overdued photos, updating my food blog, scrapbooking, baking or cooking something new, go out for photoshoots. And the list goes on. But I'm kinda a social creature and I cannot do things alone. Save for running errands, and maybe sorting through my personal stuff. But I really cannot survive not interacting with people.

I don't really talk to my dad and bro at home. So this loneliness gets to me sometimes. People around me are all working or schooling, or at least have something to do. Not me.

I kinda miss my boyf because I only get to meet him about twice a week. As if he's still in army or something lor. FML.

P/s. How can I forget to pay my phone bill last month? That's so unlike me.

Met up with sis Meh, sis Noi, Chunhwee and Zirong last Friday for dinner at Xi Men Ding. It was a random group because I texted everyone from Thirteen but only 5 of us could make it. Didn't have a chance for sisters HTHT because Chunhwee was so noisy - he couldn't stop rambling. I cannot imagine how I endured his nonsense back in the poly days. Anyway, this has also served to remind me how thankful I have my boyf as my boyf (:

Used to think my boyf is super long-winded (he will ask lots of questions and explain alot of how-things-work concepts to me all the time), but at least they're not nonsensical. Love you baby!

And it has also made me realised I kinda miss the reserved Max. No matter how weird his antics were, it sure is better than having someone talk non-stop.

Ok I should stop complaining. Karma |:

Can't wait for CNY house visiting! Hopefully more Thirteen members can turn up to entertain Chunhwee cos I missed them!

P/s. Just downloaded whatsapp & I got to catch up with Max! Nice to know he's doing good. But my phone suddenly went crazy and the keypad is no longer fully functional. Now I hate to type on my BB ):

We were talking about love. And the different ways guys and girls view it. The different expectations we have for/from our partners. All of a sudden, I was thrown this question "are you a girl who needs constant reaffirmation?"

I replied "What do you think?"

He said "I think yes. But I feel that couples should be independent. What if next time we're married? We cannot be together all the time. It's impossible!"

I said "But nothing is impossible."

And I was unexpectedly thrown another question, "What if next time I need to work overseas for 3 years? Would you wait?"

I was so lost. Because I was thinking about my answer very deeply. I was trying to picture myself living without him for 3 years. I realized it's gonna be tough. I didn't know if I could do it. Still in a dilemma, I answered "3 years still ok, I think I can."

He told me he was disappointed with my answer, because he'd expected me to say "Of course I will" without hesitation.

I think I'm really needy. I cannot expect myself to not think about him constantly. Even if he has to go on frequent business trips, like twice a year, each lasting 4-5 months, I think I might give up. But then again, friends who know me, know how strong I am. I can live without my mother, how many of you can? Of course I think about my mum. All the time. But life goes on because I know she'll never be back. No anticipation, no hope, nothing.

Maybe because I'm too free now, while he's busy like a bee. Need to engage in productive work. And I need a job!

The girls were given the opportunity to participate in this year's Speech Day as G.O.H. Oh my, what an honour! Sadly I think most of them don't like the idea. Details not confirmed yet. Do hope something positive comes out of it (:

Bumped into my neighbour in the lift today. And the very short conversation (no more than 5 minutes) made me feel so...grown up?

(Loosely translated from Mandarin) "Ah girl, you working now?"

"Not yet, still looking for one."

"Oh, finish studying right? You are year 88?"

"Eh ya."

"Study where? What course? How long?"

"Oh NUS Economics. Two-and-a-half years cos I was from Poly."

"Good good. Faster come out work and take care of your dad. He brought you up by himself - it's really not easy. Time to support him now."

"Ya I will."

"How's your brother? Poly now? Or army?"

"Ya, Mass Comm. Going army soon in a few months."

"Ok, must communicate more to your dad k? And ask your brother talk to him more too. It's really hard on him. Poor thing (referring to my dad)."

And we bid goodbye when the lift reached ground floor. An old neighbour, very kind aunty (: I was deeply touched by her words. I should be more desperate in finding a job. I should.

#1258.

Just done reading this book 'Why men want sex & women need love' by Allan & Barbara Pease. They're like one of my favourite authors! Anyway I thought this was interesting:

There are now mountains of evidence showing how men ans women think and behave differently. The following are further evidence of these behavioral variations.

How to shower like a woman

1. Take off clothing and place it in a sectioned laundry hamper according to lights, darks, whites, man-made or natural.

2. Walk to bathroom wearing long dressing gown. If husband seen along the way, cover up any exposed flesh and rush to the bathroom.

3. Look at womanly physique in the mirror and stick out belly.

4. Complain and whine about getting fat.

5. Get in shower.

6. Look for facecloth, body cloth, long loofah, wide loofah and pumice stone.

7. Wash hair once with cucumber and avocado shampoo with 83 added vitamins.

8. Wash hair again with cucumber and avocado shampoo with 83 added vitamins.

9. Condition hair with cucumber and avocado conditioner with enhanced natural orange-blossom oil. Leave on hair for 15 minutes.

10. Wash face with crushed-apricot facial scrub for ten minutes until red raw.

11. Wash entire rest of body with ginger-nut and Jaffa Cake body wash.

12. Rinse hair, taking at least 15 minutes to make sure that conditioner is all off.

13. Shave armpits and legs. Consider shaving bikini area but decide to get it waxed instead.

14. Scream loudly when husband flushes toilet and water loses pressure and goes red hot.

15. Turn off shower.

16. Squeegee all wet surfaces in shower.

17. Spray mould spots with Exit Mould.

18. Get out of shower.

19. Dry with towel the size of small African country.

20. Wrap hair in super-absorbent second towel.

21. Check entire body for remotest sign of spots. Attack with nail/tweezers if found.

22. Return to bedroom wearing long dressing gown and towel on head. If husband is seen, cover up any exposed areas and then rush to bedroom to spend an hour and a half getting dressed.

How to shower like a man

1. Take off clothes while sitting on the edge of the bed and leave them in a pile.

2. Walk naked to the bathroom. If wife seen along the way, shake penis at her, making the 'woo-woo' sound.

3. Look at manly physique in the mirror and suck in gut. Admire size of penis and scratch butt.

4. Get in shower.

5. Don't bother to look for washcloth.

6. Wash face.

7. Wash armpits.

8. Blow nose in hands, then let water rinse it off.

9. Crack up at how loud farts sound in shower.

10. Majority of time is spent washing privates and surrounding area.

11. Wash butt, leaving butt hairs on the soap bar.

12. Shampoo hair. (Do not use conditioner.)

13. Make a shampoo mohawk.

14. Peek out of shower curtain to look at self in mirror again.

15. Pee in shower, aiming for drainage hole.

16. Rinse off and get out of shower. Fail to notice water on floor because curtain hanging out of tub the whole time.

17. Partially dry off.

18. Look in mirror. Flex muscles. Admire penis size again.

19. Leave shower curtain open, wet bathmat on floor, fan and light on.

20. Return to bedroom with towel around waist. Pull off towel, shake penis at wife, go, 'Yeah, baby,' and thrust pelvis at her.

21. Throw wet towel on bed. Put on yesterday's clothes.

I was on the phone with the boyf this afternoon when we randomly talked about personality traits and how it can affect you and your (serious, long term) partner if you guys have very different personalities. This is not saying that all partners must have similar personalities, but that generally birds of a feather flock together.

So he listed a few traits he wanted in a partner and I fit the bill (duh, why else would he want me). And he got me to do the same. Sadly, I don't have a list. He told me to create one. Which I thought would be good. So here it is.

Note: I'm just listing his traits which I guess would be traits I want in a partner (if not why else would I want him). Haha.

He's honest. Very. Sometimes in fact too much that I need to sieve out only what's good for me. You know how listening to very honest opinions can hurt you. He's adventurous. And so am I. I think? He always wants to try something new. I can be quite skeptical/ reserved/ scared, but overall I would say I'd like to be adventurous. He's talkative. Me too! I can die or feel sad if I don't talk. He's confident. Sometimes over? I guess his confidence also leads him to become a very convincing person. He's independent. In fact I think he enjoys doing things by himself? He's enterprising. Into a business venture now, and planning to minor in Technopreneurship. What more can I say? He's logic, and sometimes too rational for his own good. For he cannot see things from my point of view. And in life, not everything that is logical has to be correct. But this trait is always something I admire. He's courteous. Especially so to elders. Good boy haha.

Ok I think there are lots more but it's impossible to list them all. Note that this does not mean my boyfriend does not have any negative traits. I just chose not to list them because the topic today is "what I look for in a partner", i.e. we're talking about all the good stuff here! (:

Enough of "thank yous" and "i love yous", I thought I'd just gather some nice pictures and dedicate to my dearest sweetheart. Xoxo, together forever.

From 'Why Men Want Sex & Women Need Love', I thought it was pretty interesting.

The Top Five Questions That Frighten Most Men

1. 'What are you thinking about?'

The proper answer to this is, 'I'm sorry if I have been a bit distant, darling. I was just reflecting on what a warm, wonderful, thoughtful, caring, intelligent woman you are, and how lucky I am to have you in my life.' This response obviously bears no resemblance to the truth, which most likely is one of the following:

a. 'Nothing.'
b. 'Football.'
c. 'Angelina Jolie, naked.'
d. 'How fat you are.'
e. 'How I would spend the insurance money if you died.'

-

2. 'Do you love me?'

The correct response if, 'Yes! I'm crazy about you!' Inappropriate responses include:

a. 'Sure! Heaps! Can we have sex now?'
b. 'Would it make you feel better if I said yes?'
c. 'Can you define the word "love"?'
d. 'I'm your husband... That's my job.'
e. 'I have sex with you, don't I?'
f. 'Who, me?'

-

3. 'Do I look fat?'

The correct answer is an emphatic 'Absolutely not! You look perfect!' Among the incorrect answers are:

a. 'Compared to what?'
b. 'I wouldn't call you fat, but you're not exactly thin.'
c. 'A little extra weight looks good on you.'
d. 'I've seen fatter.'
e. 'No. I inadvertently put a twenty-kilo weight on the scales when you were on them.'
f. 'Could you repeat the question? I was just thinking about how I would spend the insurance money if you died.'

-

4. 'Do you think she is prettier than me?'

Once again, the proper response is an emphatic 'Definitely not!' Incorrect responses include:

a. 'Yes, but you have a better personality.'
b. 'Not prettier, but definitely thinner.'
c. 'Not as pretty as you when you were her age.'
d. 'Define "pretty".'
e. 'Could you repeat the question? I was just thinking about how I would spend the insurance money if you died.'

-

5. 'What would you do if I died?'

This is a definite no-win question, whatever a man says. The real answer is, 'Buy a Ferrari and a boat', but here's a typical way this question could be handled:

Woman: Would you get married again?
Man: Definitely not!
Woman: Why not? Don't you like being married?
Man: Yes! I love being married!
Woman: Then why wouldn't you remarry?
Man: Ok, then...I'd get married again.
Woman: (with a hurt look on her face) You would?
Man: Well...uh...you asked me!
Woman: Would you sleep with her in our bed?
Man: Where else would we sleep?
Woman: Would you replace my photos with pictures of her?
Man: Well...that would seem the appropriate thing to do.
Woman: And would you let her use my golf clubs?
Man: She can't. She's left-handed.

Hello, it has been a while. Happy twenty-eleven everyone! Hope your countdown party was a great one. We had a simple one this (last) year, as usual with AK. I have yet to write my resolutions. I realized I don’t have a habit of writing them. I did briefly mentioned some resolutions on my blog last year so here’s to recap.

1) maybe i'll work doubly hard this year. like motivate myself to study damn hard since it's my last year! let me graduate with a degree with merit!
I don't think I worked doubly hard in 2010, but I'm glad I managed a merit. So that's one resolution completed!

2) i'll organise more get-togethers. for Sisters, for Thirteen, for Shingzers. bcos this (last) year has been one hell of a busy year with all the 21st parties, we hardly get to catch up.
Nope I didn't accomplish this but that's only because of the boyf :P We only have 24 hours a day and depending on how well you can manage it, you sometimes need to forgo certain things. I'm glad Sisters and Shingzers are still in close contact, but not the same for Thirteen. In fact, I feel that we've grown apart. Mmmm.

3) i wanna find a good company to intern at! impt impt.
Nope I didn't do intern, at all.

4) a short trip somewhere? i'm thinking of those 3D2N weekend thing. firstly, bcos i can foresee a stressful graduating year. secondly, bcos i'll be damn busy with school & intern & exams.
Didn't get to go overseas at all ):

--

Oh boy, I only managed to fulfill one out of four resolutions. That's terrible! But something better than nothing.

This year, I'm gonna write my resolutions on a paper and I'm gonna make boyf do the same. Cos I was very inspired by AK. So heartwarming to open the resolutions on NYE and see how much you've accomplished.

--

To summarize 2010, it has been a good year, if not great. Of cos the highlight of the year was getting together with my dearest sweetheart (: 7 months and counting, and I wanna take this opportunity to thank him for all that he has done. No relationships are sugary-sweet, lovey-dovey forever. But I'm glad that after each unhappy moment, we get to understand each other better and love each other more. Thank you love (: And I'm also glad to have met up with his brothers (shi2 xiong1 di4) and beginning to know them better. Despite being in the 'elite club', all of them are really humble and humorous. Imagine three Doctors, three Engineers, two Accountants, one Lawyer, and one more I forgot (what's Anthony studying???) Also glad for his family, mummy daddy jie kor and Ade. They're all so kind and nice to me. I'm really thankful. Getting to see him perform at the annual CAC+US performance. What a fantastic show by the Bboy Club. Met a few of his bboy friends, even though I don't really click well with them. Haha. It was kinda strange to see that they are normal people cos breakdancers are supposed to be hiphop-ish and cool? Also got to go down to his studio E-tracx and meet the DJ people. His instructor Ko-flow is so nice! I was so surprised. He even said "don't call me teacher, sounds so old, friend la". Then he went to Aspire (PSA camp) twice, and Reservist once. I missed him so much but learning to get used to it. And for Christmas this year, he got me a Lumix LX5 and I've been practising photography whenever I can. I bring my baby out almost every single day. And now I've got way too many photos to edit and upload. Haha.

In brief, my year was as follow:

Had 2 hives attacks. The first one was early this year and very mild, so I thought it was bed bugs. The second one was in November. It was so bad I had to see a doctor. My face was swollen! And I had to be put on steroids.

Bro went to China for exchange for 4 months. Coming back this Friday and I'm really excited! Cos I missed him so much! My dearest brother, my closest kin (:

Tried lots of new food, and even set up on own food blog. Check it out here:
http://rsberry.wordpress.com
This year is the bubbletea year (again) cos so many new ones are sprouting out! Only new ones I tried were Koi and Gongcha, and they were good. Check out my food blog for more foodie updates!

Joined the crowd and got myself a smartphone - Blackberry Curve. Even though it's a free phone but I'm loving it so far. Really keeps me occupied, especially with Twitter. Oh ya, follow me here?
http://twitter.com/arohammer

Watched 7 movies in all:
Alice in Wonderland
Ip Man 2
Toy Story 3
The Sorcerer's Apprentice
Despicable Me
Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows
Narnia

Volunteered for Chingay with sis Meh. It was great fun, meeting new people and feeling excited when the VIPs came. Watched the performance for free! First time experiencing fire-crackers and thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular fireworks.

Finished my last 2 semesters of Uni, and I'm officially done with school! No more late nights rushing for projects, no more feeling sleepy in lectures, no more catching up with lagging tutorials. Of cos I'd miss Yushu, my best buddy in Uni. And I'd definitely miss the food! And even the library. Oh well, thank you NUS. Glad to be part of you!

Went back to Guides, but only for a little while before the girls decided to work independently. As leaders, of cos we're pleased to see the passion and drive. Wish you girls all the best. There are things which I cannot possible mention at this moment, but news will soon spread. The June Camp was great. I'm glad AK managed to help out. It was back to guides for all of us. Ahhh those good ol' times!

Met up with the ex-4E4 people. Nice knowing what everybody's up to now. The guys are finally done with NS, and all going back to school. The girls are graduating or already graduated. Time flies. Really don't mind meeting them like once or twice a year. And speaking of my school, HSCS has a change of management. I'm sure all of you heard that in the news. "A very good school in Pasir Ris". It was rather disappointing and I pity the students.

Stand-in for Kenny in the National Vertical Marathon. So I was in the lovers challenge with sis Meh. 2 girls in this category certainly got the media curious. And we were interviewed! Honestly, climbing the stairs wasn't as easy as I thought. I nearly gave up but thank you sis! For giving me all the encouragement and cheering me on. Not to mention the dearest boyf waiting at the finishing (:

Sis Meh also got us tickets to watch wo3 yao4 chang4 xia4 qu4 at Mediacorp recording studio. It was really cold, and much of the stuff we see on TV are scripted. But the producers were funny people so we had a pretty good time.

Signed up for Paint-A-Home XI. Like finally. Year after year, I've been wanting to go for it. But I always miss the registration period. Furthermore this year, the home that we painted is right here at Tampines, just a few blocks away from where I'm staying. And I brought boyf to Bedok 85 for the first time! He ate like a pig.

Went back to DHL for part-time. I really don't like customer service. Barely there for a month and I couldn't take it any longer. I wonder how I survived my 6-months contract job previously.

Explored financial advisory as a career choice. Passed the M5 exam but still contemplating whether to go forth with FA. Or maybe I should start with banks first. Keeping my options open for now.

And last but not least, into a business venture now. I will tell my friends and family about it sooner or later. Please don't shun me when I talk to you about it. It's a really good opportunity, not only to make money, but to make a difference to people's lives. I won't force you or anything like that, just wanna share the news! (:

Wow, what a year it has been. Hello there 2011!
