Just came back from my camp – SPSSC FO Camp rocks my socks! Promised Fel that I’d type the details out so she can read but so sorry, I’m really dead tired and super lazy so here are just some of the highlights of the camp. Hope you don’t mind? =X
Day one
`Was late. LOL. But heck, a lot of others were as well.
`Started off with some orientation games. First game was gross – I practically had to kiss the guy beside me to get the pockey stick in his mouth cause the stick was only 1cm long. Eww. Second game was less disgusting – we were supposed to pass rubber bands using straws that were either in our mouth or between our toes. The girls had to hold the straws in their mouth while the guys had to hold it between their toes. I pity those girls whose guys are with smelly feet. Haha.
-We were being divided into different families (groups). Our mummy was WY and our daddy was Tata.
-Had to play some bonding games with our family to get to know one another better. I admit I’m slow cause I lost 2 games in a row. >.< Then we had to come up with a name and a cheer and a flag for our family. We are the Athen. Other family names include Banas, Sexy Mama, Amber, Jiao Lang, Heaven, Airborne and er, Gangho, I think.
-Next, we played another orientation game to get to know our school better. There were 10 checkpoints and we had to complete a task at each station. The game was super tiring. For those of you who’ve been to SP, you should know how big the school is. Imagine having to run round that school!
-At night, we played Final Destination. Each family was further divided into groups of five. You’re supposed to walk around and spot the good people. Ask them 2 questions and from their answers, you have to deicide if their good or bad people. If they’re the good people, ask them to take you to the final destination. But if they’re bad, and you still ask for the final destination, they’ll bring you to jail. Not too bad, the game was rather fun. =) And that was day one for you. Oh btw, I saw Jerelyn there – think she was attending another camp.
Day Two
`We played sort of like a telematch where we had to compete against other families. During the dog-and-bone game, I fell down! Sob. That damn person la, he shouted 1 2 3 4 5 all at one go and we really cheong ar. LOL.
`After that, we played water games. I didn’t participate cause I didn’t want to contaminate the pool. Haha. The first station was in the baby pool where you have to wade and find items in the pool. Second station was at the normal 1.5m pool. Played captains ball. The third station was at the 2m pool where they played canoe polo. From my point of view, it was mega fun but they told me it was damn difficult to maneuver the canoe cause it keeps capsizing.
`In the evening was another telematch in the sports hall. The sequence goes like this:
1. Each family had to eat 5 slices of bread.
2. Then, do the ‘The side, the side’ dance.
3. Form a human pyramid and sing ‘Twinkle, twinkle little stars’.
4. Recite a tongue twister that goes – Beat billy oden doden boiboi de diden duden dae.
`At night, we had the night walk which was all right. Not that scary. But I screamed though. LOL. Cause it was very sudden and I totally didn’t expect it. But I nearly cried when we were supposed to walk through the staff room. It was air-conditioned and pitch dark. And my mummy and another GL warned that this was the scariest part. But I think the seniors were afraid that we’d have heart attack so they went lenient on us. Phew! But it was good, one of the best night walks ever, cause there were lots of true stories and it was very real.
Day Three
`Another telematch thing. But I didn’t participate cause it was very violent. Just cheered my team on. Haha.
`This day was rather slack cause everyone was already super-mega-very-damn tired. Most of the time we were gossiping (it’s my family’s favourite hobby ^^), playing frequency games, preparing for the Shim Night and Farewell Performance.
`At night we had the Shim Night. It was SO funny. The Shims were actually quite pretty. I was impressed by Lollipop (his/her name). My daddy was last year’s Shim Night champion so he performed that night as well. Some of the things that took me by surprise – the girls actually brought bikinis, eye shadow, lipstick and female condom to camp. One Shim wore a panty liner as well. Totally steady! But I didn’t quite like the winner – Lulu. He/she wasn’t very Shim-like.
`After that was Disco Night. I thought everyone would dance or even if you don’t know how to, just move to the beat. But alas! Everyone started running around, some sat down, some families started cheering. Huh? But Su took my hand and we began dancing at one corner near the speaker so as to obtain the surround-sound effect. Soon, 2 more Malay girls joined us, and then the male version of us came and danced with us. I was so paiseh cause my dancing totally sucks. Argh. But I really tried being a good sport. Then the GLs spotted us and get everyone to form a circle around us. Su was so pissed that she shouted ‘Eh, you all join us leh. We not free show you know!’ Some daddies and mummies started to dance also but the other freshies just clapped. I felt so extra. Firstly, it’s because those dancing were Malays, not that I’m a racist but I felt weird. Secondly, I felt as though people were looking and commenting, not that I care much but I felt awkward.
`I was so tired after dancing that I fell asleep straight away. LOL.
Day four
`We went to Holland Village for treasure hunt. It was ok, cause by that time our family was down to only 9 with a couple more sick but stayed on. We nicknamed ourselves the lazy sickly gossipers. LOL.
`The afternoon was spent gossiping (as usual) and rehearsing for the farewell performance. I think our family did ok. It was a skit about how we kept gossiping and subsequently lost our flag (I’ll explain the flag part later). And also gossiping bonded us together. Lame right? I know. Ok, the flag thing. Each family had a flag and the seniors’ job was to actually steal our flags so we had to do a forfeit to get it back. Ok, we broke the record – our flag was stolen the most. Bleah.
`At the end, awards were given out. I was extremely pleased that Matthew and Jessie won the sports boy and sports girl respectively (cause I think the other nominees cannot make it).
`And yup, that was SPSSC FO Camp ’05 for you! XD
My opinions: I really really don’t like some people from the camp. I think they suck big time. But I don’t want to say who la. It’s not good to say. What if they’re reading my blog right this minute and decide to sue me. Er, better safe than sorry. But as far as I’m concerned, I don’t bother them, they don’t piss me. And I don’t think I’m going to see them for the rest of my life so I think I’ll let this matter rest. No point going on and on about them. Just hope our paths don’t cross.
