aimee & i witnessed the aftermath of an accident after our mugging session at kathy's house. since the lane was one-way, we dont know how the black car got to that position, and in a very terrible state too. poor thing.

and can you imagine the black car's tyre actually flew across the road?!


no wonder we heard several ambulances in the midst of studying. anw aimee & i came up with a very logical and evidence-less conjecture - the black car must be in the other lane, and was speeding while it was raining cats and dogs. it hadn't enough time to brake so it swerved and flew 360degrees onto the next lane, and was hit by an oncoming taxi (also speeding in heavy rain), while one of its tyres flung out.

we can be detectives :D

oh and aimee came up with 4 sets of numbers for 4D. the 2 vehicles' car plates were 7122 & 8495. kathy's unit's 0424. and the time was 1845. actually it was 1745 but aimee saw wrongly on her watch as 1845 =.=

and today's consolation prize was 1845!! always trust your intuition or first feeling kinda thing people.

rahhhhs. just realised sis meh's not going for 13 gathering. was initially not going as well cos i've got to attend sam's ROM in the evening. but sis said that if im not going, she'll feel very weird. i just left it at that and thought about it. have finally decided to go since sharon said we can meet for lunch. then i can attend the ROM after that. sounds like Plan Perfect. until i realised sis' not going. not that i-cant-live-without-her, but it just wont be the same without. and i was also wondering what i should do after lunch cos i only have to reach Orchid Country Club by 7pm. do i stroll in the city? or should i study? i have 2 projects and 2 papers the following week. or perhaps i should just forget about the gathering totally. no, no, im not going to do that. oh well...

seriously, why do i even have to take this module? i've always thought that once at University level, one would be very specialised, no? so what has Southeast Asia: A Changing Region got to do with Economics?! ok la, maybe its somehow related but i sure dislike the former.

3. Geog project discussion today kinda suck cos none of my group members did any research except for me. of cos i was stunned for a moment but i guess stuff like this happens. i just have to put in more effort. (thanks girls for contributing interviewees)

its Friday the Thirteenth; as expected bad luck befell the moment i left home. forgot about my money & ezlink and had to trouble dad to drive home & back again /: thankfully i wasnt late for school. and then text messages came in sounding pissed off and stuff. i think i was sighing throughout the journey to school.

and sean had to make matters worse by threatening regina to cancel the dinner. and victor had to make everything downright terrible by refusing to communicate with regina. i was somehow kiap-ed in this mess. then rowena had to be invited to the dinner without regina's consent. rahhhs. i was seriously considering to make myself disappear from the face of the earth.

but dinner turned out pretty much alright. and im glad things have resumed normally. rowena and sean labelled me as a typical NUS girl - speaking English and commenting how "food taste like shit". im not to blame! its the FASS environment ):

i finally had my first meal of the semester in school today. my fav laksa yong tau foo from Arts Canteen :D yippee! went to look for zirong after school at the career fair. thanks for the bunch of pens & whatnots. hehe.

it is important to know that you cant take back what you said. so thinking before speaking is crucial. sometimes people just say whats on their mind. sometimes its unintentional but the consequences can be terrible. i totally know how it feels to find out that someone you didnt invited will be showing up for dinner. and that someone; you dont particularly favour.

i am also immensely shocked at the truth. hidden from me for the past couple of months. and finally brought to light today. i hope this doesnt spoil our friendship but somehow i guess things wont be the same anymore. imagine the person you like (alot) telling you he might fancy someone else instead. and that person turns out to be your, not exactly bff but a close enough friend.

i was so tired i fell asleep while attempting Econs tutorial and ended up just going to bed. someone called at 17:58, im not sure what happened. i just knew i answered the call. i dont even know who's on the other line, what she/he said, what i said. HAHA.

my first Biotech lecture today and it was extremely boring. the prof was mumbling to himself and didnt make any eye contact with the students at all. he just kept reading off the screen. oh my...


otoh, we finally sorted out our Geog project doubts with Dr Pow and we seem to be heading in the right direction now. which reminds me, im supposed to compile the interview questions and send them tonight!

and it was my first time so actively participating in tutorials. Geog tutorial to be exact. i voiced opinions about foreign workers being unfairly treated and the state's perspective of "pro-foreigners". i guess Dr Pow was right after all. we dont need Geog background to ace this mod. i likeeee ((:

got up early to prepare the surprise for zirong's 21st (:











the birthday boy was clearly still sleeping when we arrived. after the traditional candle-blowing,
cake-cutting, we had macs for breakfast. the relightable candles werent as fantastic as i thought. and nobody dared to eat the cake afterwards. HAHAHA. kidding la, we were just very full.


SATURDAY 12:30
prepared the stuff for Bike Quest '09. some misunderstandings which led to shijie being questioned by the bosses on top. wth. we, PR, did our work ok. and its like quite alot of work too. from designing the shirt, to checking emails, to collating the registration, to mending the booth, to stocktaking the shirts, and finally to the event day itself. i wonder what the Publicity Team did.

fell asleep while talking to bro.


SATURDAY 15:10
woke up, showered, and off to ECP. bumped into alaric otw at bedok mrt. i got a shock cos i was about to step onto the escalator when he called out to me. held up for 5mins talking. and then held up for another 5mins by a surveyor. i pity her so i did the survey =.=


SATURDAY 17:20
assembled at ECP and changed into our shirts, which were technically singlets. HAHA. love it nonetheless and was happy to see all the facils and participants wearing it :D



so yellow aint such a bad colour after all. im damn proud of myself. yay :D got around to help with moving things, giving flyers. main sponsor Kit Runners; we rented like hundred over bikes from them. gathered for briefing by ivan and realised they splited up the Dry Run people. roars.

settled dinner at Hong Kong Cafe. despite being really hungry, i didnt have much appetite and was feeling full after a few mouthfuls.


SATURDAY 19:10
sky was getting darker. shijie got the PR team to mend the registration booth. so myself, kathy, jonathan and shijie were kept busy. as in really busy. settling the indemnity forms, verifying participants details, giving out singlets, etc. the red bull has no effect on me ))):


SATURDAY 20:20
kathy had to leave for her A1 facils briefing so weiwei took over. kathy is super lucky to be assigned at station A1 cos its at Hougang Ave 5, which is like her house?! =.= zhaohong came and rushed me over to my A2 facils briefing too. leaving jonathan somewhat lost. damn. i think the 4 of us worked really well in the registration lor. anyway i handed over everything to weiwei (:

my station A2 is at Farmway. yes, its in Singapore! HAHAHA. super ulu if not for the sports complex. cyan and xiaoyan drove us in a pick-up.

its my first time sitting at the back of a pick-up!! margaret and i were super excited. HAHAHA :D




SATURDAY 21:30
arrived at station A2 only to realise they close at 2200hrs. lucky the washroom is available 24/7. our boss, zicheng divided the work among us. i'd be issuing our own version of Q numbers using poker cards. to control the sequence. margaret & duc will quiz the team. and finally zicheng will allocate the points and give clues accordingly.


i think the 4 of us worked well together (: much cooperation and communication even though im new to everybody. margaret and duc stayed at Temasek Hall. zicheng and margaret went for Arts Open. so im somesort "new". nevertheless we crapped like crazy & laughed through the night :D


SATURDAY 22:30
first team arrived. followed by 38 others. i think 2 teams dropped out somehow. total of 41 teams this year :D cool.


SUNDAY 04:00
was busy through the night and everything only seemed to slow down at the wee hours. this is so much better than the Dry Run where the one and only team only arrived at 5plus AM?!

duc started telling us about horoscopes, which coincidentally i was interested in too! super cool. duc, btw is a Vietnamese, whose long name is Doan xxxxxxxx (i cant spell but its pronounced Duang Duh Deng) he can play the piano well. he showed us constellations in the sky. the stars were shining so brightly its amazing. then we played Jay Chou cards while Jay Chou's music filled the night.


SUNDAY 06:10
packed up and was transported back to ECP for prize presentation. as do every year, participants had disputes with the results but all was resolved peacefully. poor shijie look like he can collapse any moment /:

cabbed home. had 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep :D
