terrible day ): the calls are never-ending. even before i was able to wrap up the current call, the next one comes in. i hate how the system works, i.e. as long as i'm not on the line, calls can come in through the phone. roars out loud.
what's worse - i had a migraine today. initially i thought it was just brain freeze cos i started feeling really cold in the office, then the migraine came. but even after lunch, the pain was still there. really felt like going home but i endured /:
Srn told me i may have to work every Saturday to take over certain shifts. i'm super sad because my Saturdays will be wasted and what's left of the weekends is just Sunday. oh well...

my shoe broke today! it was raining super heavily this morning, so i decided to wear an old pair of shoes. upon reaching the office, i realized that the soles have already came loose cos the rain washed the glue away -.-
at lunch, i was dragging my half broken shoe to 1010 when S & L insisted my broken shoe was such a pain in the eye. they attempted to tear away the part that came loose but guess what happened instead? they tear the entire shoe apart! T_T
i threw the pair of shoes away and walked barefooted back to the office. people were like staring at me. thankfully i wasn't alone. hahaha.
reached the office and W very kindly lend me his pair of crocs to wear home. even though it was 2 sizes too big but better than nothing! (:

Kathy if you're reading this, pls let me know in what ways i can help. i'm free on weekdays after work & weekends too!

back to work today and it actually feels good to be back in an environment i'm familiar with (: Srn (i'll be using code names for my colleagues, just in case!) was busy in the morning so Ech got me to attach with Wnd till 12pm. i was told i had to follow Wnd's lunch schedule even though i asked for a later lunch. was pretty upset over it until Srn came and allowed me 1pm lunch with R!! awesome :D
wanted to eat my favourite dry ban mian at JTC but the stall closed down already. sad. and i heard my favourite noodle stall at 1010 has also closed ):
after lunch, i had one-to-one training with Als till 6pm. throughout the 4 hours, i keep wanting to fall asleep. i heard i need to take calls from tmr. *gulps*
supposed to meet boyf at Kallang cos we were meeting Jeff & girlf at Kallang Leisure Park. ended up with last minute changes so we met at City Hall instead. Jeff's girlf is non-Chinese but very pretty nonetheless :D super nice features can! Yeesheng came and joined us for dinner but his potential girlf was too shy to come along.

i managed to call Yeesheng's potential girlf at dinner to persuade her to come join us for desserts afterwards and she agreed!! yay :D

Met up with ex-classmates back from the good ol' Sec school days. The feeling was great. Seems like we haven't changed all that much. The guys have completed army and are heading to Uni, while the girls have completed (are completing) Uni. Poor boys and army. Haha. Anyway it was a quick catch up over dinner at Simpang Bedok. Happy birthday dad. Best dad in the whole wide world even though, sometimes, I don't quite agree with some of the things you do/say. Nonetheless, thank you so much and I appreciate every bit. As usual, I decided to cook dinner tonight so that dad can have some rest. Guess what I made?

went shopping with Regina ytd at Orchard Central -.- the mall is like a ghost town! but it's good in a way since it makes passageways more spacious and we can stroll leisurely without having to worry about blocking the path (:
but first, to satisfy Regina's hunger, we snacked at 313! mango bun is delicious but not so for the octopus balls /:
still feeling hungry, we continued snacking at Orchard Central. she really feeds me fat ): but this mango banana tart is super good!! i should bake tarts of this standard one day. LOL.
decided to drop by Heeren cos birthday girl wanted to buy herself a Swatch :D
i think she buys one Swatch per year. her new baby (in white) costs S$230. but she said GST credit is going to help her pay the S$200, so watch is only S$30 -.-
i feel so bad cos i didn't get her anything this year ): it's not entirely my fault though! cos she don't seem to need/want anything all the time! and she's very particular about clothes & bags so i wouldn't want to waste money on buying things she don't want. gave her photo collage/frame/etc for the past 2 years and i realised she don't exactly fancy this kinda handmade stuff /: ROL! maybe next year (when i start working), i shall give her an ang pow! :D
and sincewe're tired there's nothing much to do in town, we went to the dinner place first - Tao's Restaurant at PoMo (formerly Paradiz Center).
this restaurant is opened by Leon's friend, so we got VIP Room :D

hello all, i'm back! :D just woke up from a 15-hour sleep and it feels great! the past 3 days have been really tiring and i hardly got any sleep. shall update about the Guides Camp once i'm done sorting out the photos. think there are about 200 odd photos!! /:
yesterday was Father's Day, as well as grandpa's funeral. i didn't drop a single tear. seriously i doubt any one would believe me but i didn't cry.
and then i start to think; at whose funeral would i actually cry. it's a random thought but it really got me thinking. i still haven't got an answer. as we were walking to the main road, behind the coffin, i glanced around and saw that my dad & bro weren't crying too. maybe we've truly understand that the passing of a person is inevitable. one of my aunts was so overwhelmed with emotions, she half fainted. she was like that at my mum's funeral too. ok i shall not say more.
rest in peace ah gong. i know you're happy cos you're reunited with mummy again. see you in my next life. meanwhile, i miss you.
p/s. heading out to meet boyf in a while (: it's 5pm now but it feels like morning cos it's only been 4 hours since i woke up.

maternal grandpa passed away peacefully last night. i didn't know how to react when i received the call. i was like 'orh', and then silence. my aunt then asked to speak to my dad. dad & i rushed down to grandparents' place and almost everyone was already there. it was so weird, i didn't cry at all.
i guess i'm good at controlling my tears when the situation calls for.
like how i didn't cry during mummy's wake & funeral too. people will think i'm not sad or i don't have feelings or i'm not filial. but they don't know it's my heart that's tearing, not my eyes.
i don't cry because i don't want the deceased to be sad. i want them to die in peace and be happy wherever they are going. after all, we'll meet again someday. it's not like we are immortals. i hope grandpa can tell mummy that i miss her lots and i really hope to dream of her. it's been three-and-a-half years. no such luck.
i'm halfway through packing my stuff for Guides Camp tmr. won't be home for the next 3D2N.

boyf thinks it's childish to celebrate monthsar-ies but i don't care. haha. i sew him a boyf badge (inspired by our Girl Guides proficiency badge) and designed a 'test chart' too!
ya ya it's not very well done but it's the thought that counts right! :P and i even wrote him a love letter lor.

and in the afternoon i went to his place to help him with his kor's farewell gift. we're really good at handicraft :D

met up with THIRTEEN for our once in a blue moon dinner. initially decided on Ambush at Takashimaya but we realized it wasn't a restaurant by itself -.- hard to gossip chit chat so we changed location to Tampopo!
and the dumb me forgot to bring out my SD card ): my camera's memory is only enough for 4 photos! and not one of them is a group photo! argh, my bad.
parts of a pig. HAHAHAHAHAHA :D apparently this place is famous for their black pig -.- which tastes like normal pork!

yay! double date today and it was so much fun! plus, little Davian came along as a surprise :D
last night, sisMeh, Kenny & i conferenced to decide who-to-bring-what for picnic! the boyf & i were doing sausage wraps & chocolate coated strawberries! (:
packed my stuff early this morning and went to do grocery shopping at NTUC, before heading to boyf's place for food preparation. the poor boy's really really sick so i insisted i could carry the shopping bags by myself. wrong move. the food & drinks were damn heavy. but it's good training for biceps, i guess :P
by the time we started preparing the food, it was already 2plus. and we were meeting sisMeh & Kenny at 4.30pm! /:
chocolate coated strawberries before & after freezing! :D
sisMeh called to say they were going to Marina Barrage straight (cos her dad driving) and we'd meet there at 5.15pm. LIAR!! in actual fact, they were bring little Dav along and his dad was driving. too bad the surprise kinda failed cos we bumped into each other outside the toilet. LOL! but i was super excited & happy to see little Dav! such a cutie pie :D
sadly, my kite flew off shortly after we managed to get it up. and then sisMeh's kite had to get stuck at the roof of the building /: so we decided to play frisbee. but guess what?? we threw it too far, it fell into the water. HAHAHAHA.
we were left with nothing to play, so just take photos :D
David & Constance then came to pick little Davian up. and since all of us haven't had dinner, David suggested Hokkien Mee at Simon Road! ^^
what made the day happier than ever can be, was little Claudette willing to let me carry her on my lap. awwwww (: can't wait for the next meet up!
last night, sisMeh, Kenny & i conferenced to decide who-to-bring-what for picnic! the boyf & i were doing sausage wraps & chocolate coated strawberries! (:
packed my stuff early this morning and went to do grocery shopping at NTUC, before heading to boyf's place for food preparation. the poor boy's really really sick so i insisted i could carry the shopping bags by myself. wrong move. the food & drinks were damn heavy. but it's good training for biceps, i guess :P
by the time we started preparing the food, it was already 2plus. and we were meeting sisMeh & Kenny at 4.30pm! /:

sisMeh called to say they were going to Marina Barrage straight (cos her dad driving) and we'd meet there at 5.15pm. met up with Shingzers girlfs for lunch at Tampines Mall today! (: feels damn awesome to eat & talk & laugh, knowing that we've all come a long way. 10 years of friendship, how precious is that! we've got to have some form of celebration this year ^^
anyway, we went on budget dining at Swensen's (1-for-1 lunch).

#1139.
went over to sisMeh's place for some baking fun! we decided to try Chocolate Cupcakes with Lemon Cream. i think sisMeh found the recipe in some magazine. little Davian came over to help too! :D too bad, little Claudette still cries when she sees/hears me. i can't play with her now ):

ta-daaa! end product which everyone said was nice :D
and after baking, we were super hungry so i decided to make some egg rolls! it's a little too sweet but this is the only egg my bro eats cos it doesn't taste like egg -.-
tried chawanmushi too! :D
end product became steamed egg cos we didn't sieve. we certainly ate lotssss of egg that day! /:

the boyf is sick today! ): so i delivered some herbal tea & (rusty) lozenges. i got to taste his kor's superb bacon pasta! :D
went to the library in the afternoon cos the boyf's house is full of bacteria. haha. he studied Maths while i read some cookbooks & learnt splicing. now i'm all ready to teach the girls!! :D
got psycho-ed to go to boyf's house for dinner cos he tempted me with JJM! plus, he said we could try making Poached Pear in Red Wine (as seen in one of the recipe books!!). he's so evil!!!
here's our dessert!
he said it wasn't as nice as the one he had in Europe (of cos la, we're amateurs, how to compare?) and we didn't have enoughpatience time to let the wine boil till it becomes thick and syrup-y. but all in all, it was quite a successful attempt! (:
oh and i was dumb enough to go touch the stove just after we switched off the fire. there, my pinky is scarred! T_T
the boyf's mummy & daddy are sick too. certainly hope my immunity is strong enough and i don't fall sick any time from now till Guides Camp!! *prays hard*
