#1253.

Me and my ridiculous dad. People who don't know me, please don't judge. People who think they know me just because they follow my blog religiously, you can't be more wrong.

Anyway, that was just a disclaimer because I tend to leave out critical information sometimes, when communicating with people. Boyf says that, as a result, people may misunderstand or misinterpret my intentions. I'm truly apologetic if I've ever misguided you, so please don't take me seriously. If in doubt, always clarify.

So anyway I wasn't home most of time for the past week or so. And today, being Christmas, I thought I should give myself a little break and spend time alone, at home.

Dad had to screw up my day by nagging at the phone bills. I mean the home phone bills. I pay for my own mobile phone bills so he doesn't know how much it is. But the most ridiculous thing is that, he exclaims that I'm over-using the house phone, just because it's $20+ per month now.

OMGWTFBBQ!

I think this is the most ridiculous and nonsensical remark he has ever made! He even showed me the bill that states that I've used 2,400 minutes of talktime the last month, which translates to 80 minutes a day.

80 minutes a day is a lot meh? You really have to consider that I'm a chatterbox and when I don't have anybody to talk to at home, I call my boyf and disturb him. That's what boyfs are for right?

So my dad now claims that the phone bill is expensive (like wtf $20 per month leh!!!) and that I really should curb my phone usage.

This. Is. So. Ridiculous.

I feel like I'm in a jail, with curfew. Cannot go home late, cannot talk on the phone. What kind of life am I living?

Obviously I whined to the boyf about this and guess what he did??? He offered me solutions!!! OMG!

I definitely do not need solutions. I want nothing more than a listening ear, darling.

I've lived with my dad all my life and this is how our family works. Dad nags, I acknowledge, I act upon it. Regardless of how unreasonable the request is. I don't need people to tell me how to deal with it. I don't need advices like "maybe you should talk to your dad more and let him know what you're thinking." Honestly, I don't need that.

My dad is old and has traditional mindset. He's semi-retired and stays home everyday doing I-don't-know-what. He does not interact with people. So it is highly likely that he doesn't know how the world is like now, how society behaves now. He restricts me in as many ways you can imagine but I don't blame him, neither do I want to challenge his thinking.

He might not make sense, might make illogical assumptions, might have the weirdest misconception about everything but I don't want to argue with him. Whatever he thinks right or wrong, I will just let him be. I have my own thinking and I will do what I think is right. I know that some of the things I do, may be regarded by him as wrong, but I don't really care, I will just do it and not let him know.

I don't see the need of telling him, trying to change his mindset, to convince him to accept what is the norm now.

So boyf, I'm not sure if you will get to read this, but I just want to tell you that I'm very thankful for you. Just being there for me is already more than what I can ask for. I don't need advices and solutions, unless I ask for them. Otherwise, when I'm ranting, I only need an avenue to vent out my frustrations. I don't need to see the big picture, to have a different perspective, to know the possible repercussions. I only need someone to understand me, to lend me his shoulders, to comfort me. I know you always have my best interest at heart, and I really appreciate it. Thank you baby.

Every year, we'd have potluck Christmas gathering at someone's place. This year, Yushu very kindly lent us her house, but we decided to go the "traditional" way of ordering turkey and all the other Christmas dinner food! Pizzas overload because the deliveryman made a mistake and gave us complimentary ones. Prior to this, we thought we didn't have enough and went to buy more. AK would never ever be anorexic. Haha. The boyf was formally introduced into the Kingdom, and he got the name "Housefly". I gave him that! Just because sometimes he's irritating like one! :P All of us were in white, except for lazy pig who couldn't be bothered to change. What a lovely white Christmas (:

Photog date with sis Noi today, and it was absolutely amazing! For one, it can be a little boring to go around the island shooting stuff. Plus, we got to catch up with each other. And she brought me to eat the famous Hock Lam Beef Noodles! Super love (:

Annual guides gathering turned AK's gathering.

Pulau Ubin. Uphill downslope. Cycling. Rested. Uphill downslope. Lunch. Rain. Rested. Grocery shopping. Yushu's place. Steamboat. Eat and eat. And eat. Lotsa laughters. Ms Fah and Ms Soh. More laughters. Birthday cake surprise. Home.

And that was how I spent day one of being a 22-year-old (:

Happy birthday to me! Yet another year has passed. This year is wonderfully special, not only because I’ve found someone special, but because I’ve learnt so many life lessons. All of us are definitely growing older each day, but how many of us are actually getting wiser?

It’s kinda good that my birthday is right at the end of the year, so that when I’m typing my birthday entry, it also seems like I’m reflecting on the year. Right now, what’s going through my mind are bits and pieces of everything. I feel like doing a last-day-cum-new-year-resolution entry, but maybe not now.

Alright, the usual birthday speech and thank you’s as follows:

My beloved boyfriend, Dennis the menace. For being part of my life, bringing me so much joy and laughter, not to mention occasional tears. I love you baby.

He sang me a birthday song last night before I went to bed and I was so touched, I teared.

Dennis’s family – aunty, uncle, jie, kor & Ade. For always treating me like part of the family, making me feel at home. Especially aunty and uncle, who’s always so caring. And I was so shocked by the sms. Thank you for remembering even though you are on vacation. I’m so touched (‘: Thankyou aunty for brewing those yucky herbal soup. I know you mean well and I appreciate it so much. Big love to the family.

Mummy, wherever you are, I still miss and love you. Please let me dream of you tonight.

My brother, Jun, who’s faraway in China now. The phone call this morning totally made my day. Please take care of yourself and don’t get into any more accidents. I really miss you so hurry back!

My dad. Even though I get angry at you every so often now, deep inside, you’re still my dad. Nothing in the world can ever change that. Thank you for everything you’ve done. I still don’t agree with many things you do or say, but what can I do? I’ve chose to listen and be your ideal daughter till the day you’re no longer around. For now, this is it.

My aunts. For the well wishes, and always concerned about the family even though mummy’s not around anymore.

Sisters Meh, Noi, Ting. Bff, Peisi. The rest of Shingzers Kathy, Aimee, Sha. Animals, Yushu, Sabrina, Veralyn, Siewhoon, Weili, Felina. My closest friends in my life. Almost like family already (: Each one of you is special in your own way and I’m ever so thankful for knowing you. Irreplaceable girls.

And all the rest of the well wishes, I’m glad you (or Facebook) remembered. Doesn’t matter, it still made my day. Aaron Adelene Chunhwee Cyrilla Daniel Eiei Idah Irene Jack Jason Jevelle Jiemin Jonathan JosephLam JosephNg Juliana Junwei Justina Kenny Kyee Lawrence Leechien Leeling LeonChia Leslie Liping Marcus Max Meiting Naomi Nazera Nicholas Nordiyana Norhikmah Pohkim Qingliang Reena Regina Reuben Samuel Sarah Siewteng Sihui Shihan Shuwen Tailun Valerie Wante Wanteng Xiuzhen Yixuan Yuyu Zirong.

Hello readers, my highly anticipated food blog is now up and running! Hahaha omg why am I so thick skinned. Anyway the url is here:

Please do take a look and leave some comments so I can improve on it. Thanks a million. Really appreciate it (:

Went to the Bookfest on Monday and there wasn't alot to buy. Some good books but too expensive for me. Bought a book for boyf and another for his mum though (:

Had lunch thereafter at Ya Zhou Cafe @ Suntec City and accompanied the boyf for some shopping, before our movie date. Had free tickets from Cathay and we wanted to watch Rapunzel but the timing wasn't right. So we could only watch Narnia. I thought it was pretty good too (:

This is so cool. Boyf's dad's birthday is just one day after mine, so that makes him a Sagittarius. What's more, he is a dragon (Chinese horoscope) too! Omg no wonder we kinda have the same traits -.-

Celebrated our birthdays together at Soup Restaurant at JP2 (refer to Food Blog for food review*) and then went to Icing Room for some fun at cake deco. It was kinda awkward because his dad kept asking me to write my name, etc, on the cake. As if I was the main birthday person. Urgh. That's what happens when you have 2 people with close birthdays.

But that said, obviously friends I don't mind la! Like how sis Meh and I always combine our birthdays. In fact I think it's quite awesome. But with another adult, I feel so pai seh -.-

Anyway, after that we went home for cake-cutting. And even webcam with kor & Ade all the way from Australia! So heartwarming. Feel the love (:

Cake supposed to be decorated by the birthday people but somebody so extra. Drew the daddy's face till so abstract. Lol.

So awkward, the daddy don't wanna cut cake, blow candle, take pictures. So I was like the only person. Urghhh.

Anyhow, what's most important is that everyone's happy. Seriously, their family feels so much more like family (:

*The url of my food blog will be released on the 15th of December. Stay tuned! (:

#1245.

Hectic day but amazing night. Sometimes joy and happiness can be derived from such simple things (:

If you've been following my twitter here, you would've known that I had quite a rushed morning from the moment I woke up. Basically I washed up, had breakfast, printed some stuff, called boyf, and it was already lunch time. Ok fine, it was because I woke up at 11am. Hur hur.

After lunch I had to iron the laundry. Haven't been doing that for weeks, and I'm running out of clothes to wear. And then R texted me to confirm the time I was going down. And sis Meh bbm-ed me to confirm our meet up. And it was already almost 3pm! Seriously, when you have tons to do, time just zoom pass like crazy. So I hurriedly packed my stuff, jotted down a to-do list, and rushed outta the house. It was so hectic I could feel myself panting. Haha.

Reached DHL at about 4.40pm. Super late. Was supposed to be there at 3pm. But then I bought bubbletea for R and S! So it kinda make up for my lateness. Managed to settle the shipment stuff and send out the item to bro. And off I went to meet boyf.

Supposed to meet him at City Hall at 5.30pm but I only left DHL at 5.10pm. Urgh. Thankfully he was late too. And we went to Marina Square for Christmas shopping. We already had in mind what we were buying for each other so it was pretty quick. Like we just went to the shop straight and bought the stuff.

After much research (by the boyf of course), we settled on a Panasonic Lumix LX5 for me! The amount of effort the boyf puts in is amazing. I'm so touched (': he spent like a whole day reading forums and doing comparisons, before deciding on a camera. And then went on to find which place has the best deals.

Don't say I never share good stuff - Cathay at Marina Square has the best offer, we think! Leave a comment if you wanna know the details. I'm lazy to list them all here.

Thank you so much boyfriend! Seriously, this is like the best Christmas present I had for my entire life. Nobody ever spent so much time, effort, and money. I really appreciate it baby (:

I'm going to learn photography and be good at it. Yes I am!

They only had it in white, which was perfect! Looks way more feminine than the black.

Next we went to get boyf's Christmas present - a Sony headphone XB500! For his DJ-ing needs. He's been wanting it for a long time but waiting for me to buy it for him for Christmas. It's great 'cos then I don't have to think what to buy! Teehee.

But when we reached the Sony shop, the guy said they were OOS. So sad! But he said he would check and came back from the storeroom with a 'last piece'. Were we lucky or what??? :D

We walked around grinning like idiots (:

Boyf kept saying 'happiness!' again and again. Haha.

Went to meet the brothers for dinner at Ippudo at Mandarin Gallery. We were late for an hour but just nice 'cos the guys had to queue |:

After Ippudo, the guys were still hungry -.- so we went to Macs for dinner part II.

Was terribly tired otw home. But it was a superb day (: Food review on my food blog (to be released very very soon!) Other pics on my FB. The only pic I'm gonna post is of my new baby.

#1244.

Here to update about a simple date with my dearest sis Meh since she had half day off yesterday.

We went to do some Christmas shopping in town. Lunch was settled at Quiznos and it was pretty good! Dessert at Marvellous Cream was a tad disappointing though. Finally ended off the shopping at Tampines 1 where we bought a whole lot of scrapbooking paper at 30% off. Great deal!

To end off this short entry, I'd like to share a simple story from the book I'm currently reading - '100 ways to happiness, a guide for busy people'.

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to a class, raised a glass of water and asked, 'How heavy is this glass of water?' The answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.

Then the lecturer replied, 'The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it'.

'If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."

He continued, 'And that's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on. As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.'

Here to do a review of some Meiji snacks. Saw them lying on a supermarket shelf and I couldn't resist the temptation. Japanese products are always packaged so nicely!

Kinoko choco (mushroom chocolate)
S$3.80 (82 grams)

Tastes like mini 'yan yan' already dipped in chocolate! Nice!
Taste: 8 / 10

-

Fran Creamy Mousse Strawberry Chocolate
S$3.60 (49 grams)

Chocolate biscuit stick coated with a thick layer of strawberry. Beneath the layer of pink is a thin layer of white, I can't tell what it is though. Maybe milk? The strawberry is more sour than sweet so it tastes like yoghurt.
Taste: 7 / 10

-

Chou Cookie Strawberry Chocolate
S$4.00 (53 grams)

Gotta apologise for this low resolution photo taken with my Blackberry. And I couldn't find a photo of this snack on Google images so I had no choice but to use this.

Super crispy exterior which I totally didn't expect. From the packaging, I thought it was gonna be softer (a la cream puffs) but it was as hard as love letters (those kind you eat during Chinese New Year). In fact, the outer shell tastes just like love letters with a slight tinge of chocolate flavour. Cream filling was ok. The usual cream strawberry. Didn't really like the whole thing. Would have preferred Hello Panda for something similar.

Taste: 5 / 10

#1241.

Hello there December! I've been waiting for you for a whole year. Am gonna cherish every single moment I have before I start job-hunting. Stepping into the next phase of life already.

So anyway, I had my last paper yesterday. Last examination for my 15 years of education. Hope I do ok and can at least make my parents happy.

After the paper, the boyf promised that he'll be waiting for me in school but as usual, he didn't come! Grrrr. I was quite angry but I guess it's all about managing expectations. Plus my period is here already, so no more mood swings. Yippee!

Dessert made with love! (:

Barley + gingko + wolfberry + aiyu jelly + soybeancurd + honey. Super healthy & super delicious. And it can double up as lunch too (there was like 1 bowl of barley)!

Reached PS just in time for Harry Potter at 5.30pm!

But before that, we went to buy Gong Cha's Special Alisan Milk Tea. I chose 50% sugar and it was not sweet at all! And changed to aiyu jelly instead of pearls. Healthier option right? (:

Anyway, the movie was good even though I didn't read the book. Heh. Part 2 better come out soon before I forget the storyline.

And dinner thereafter.

Wanted to go Daiso but realized it's no longer there! Who knows if Daiso is still at PS or completely gone already?

Christmas lights in the mall! (:

Totally enjoyed the evening. I love you boyf! (:

Hello all! Here's one entry before the start of my 10-day exam period. Haven't been the most productive during the past week. But then again, how do you define most productive? Anyway, I'm already jotting down a whole list of stuff to do during the holidays. It's gonna be my favourite month very soon! What's not to like? Cool weather with lots of rain, no school, tons of catch-ups and htht with my loves, baking and cooking, playing photoshop, Christmas, my birthday, and everybody being nice, warm, and fuzzy.

People whose papers end before mine, I don't like you! And that includes my boyf. Chicken banana he's ending 4 days before me. Grrrr.

P/s. my last paper is on 30th Nov so the next time I blog, it'd be D-e-c-e-m-b-e-r baby! :D

That's it. Friday marked my last day at NUS. It's so abrupt. Like I wasn't even counting down to it or anything.

It was so random and sudden. Ok fine, not really sudden. In fact I've been thinking about it since day one. But now that it's here, I think I might miss this place. It always happens, doesn't it?

Honestly, if not for Dennis and Yushu, I would probably be happy as a lark on my last day. Maybe what I miss is the food them.

Not in the right state of mind to blog a proper entry cos I have been mugging for two whole days, and feeling kinda brain-fried. I do have a lot to say about school though. Guess I would do a separate entry to summarise my days in NUS. After exams, of course.

Good luck to all! Mug hard (;

P/s. I feel very bad whenever boyf talks to me about super chim philosophical stuff because I get irritated and starts barking at him ): I really wished I could be more engaging but how do I? It was an interesting topic on teleportation but way beyond my comprehension. Urgh.

P/p/s. Haven't got time to do up a wishlist yet. Will get to it the moment I'm done with exams. So exciting! Heehee.

#1238.

I feel so silly and stupid, I wanna slap myself.

If you have been following my tumblr (here), you would probably know that about a month ago, I got really depressed and paranoid about a girl. She's just an ordinary girl but because of certain incidents (read everything from my tumblr if you wanna 'cause I'm really lazy to repeat), I got really upset. In fact, I got so irrational that I thought I was gonna die. It was hurting me so badly inside, and there was no one to hear me out. It was the first time since mum's passing that I felt I really needed her. I needed someone to hold me and tell me everything's alright. Someone to comfort me and wipe my tears.

So anyway, emo stuff aside, my point of this entry is that my stupid emotional self acted up today again. I was expecting to see her, and have prepared to smile when I do so. Yet, when I really saw her, my heart frowned. To tell the truth, I even cringe at the mention of her name.

It. Is. That. Bad.

Now I know I should be more magnanimous but I can't help it. I do trust my boyf 101% but I cannot stand the thought/idea of them being together. Be it doing project or whatsoever.

I know right. I'm a stupid, selfish, possessive bitch.

That's why I'm trying to change.

A leopard can never change its spots. So I can never shake away the possessive nature in me. But I can learn. And I think I'm doing quite well!

See, today I knew what to do. Instead of sinking into a depressive mood, I tweeted that I needed to talk to someone. I know deep down inside I just need reassurance. I just needed to talk to someone, to vent my irrational frustrations, to knock some sense into me.

When nobody replied within 5 minutes, I BBM-ed Meh and called Yushu (almost simultaneously). Cos I knew she was most probably at home. And I'm so so so thankful to hear her voice. Even though she might not have the most perfect advice, her words were enough to comfort me. Shortly after, Meh called. And then tweet replies starting coming in.

It was then, that I realised how much my friends mean to me. Close friends know that I'm not on very good terms with my dad. We're not quarrelling, just not seeing eye to eye. The only person I regard as my family is my bro (whom I love dearly). But he's (in China) away on exchange so not exactly wise for me to call him. In times like these, I can only rely on my friends. And seriously, their simple gestures make me wanna cry. I feel so loved. So happy that my friends are actually willing to lend a listening ear, a helping hand, when I'm in need.

I love you my dear friends. You all know who you are. And I'm so grateful to have you in my life. You know that you can count on me too (:

#1237.

Wow. Second surprise visit from the boyf today and it was so awkward. Previously when he popped by, it was already 8-ish, so dad was in his room doing his stuff and it was ok. I mean, he didn't really say anything. And boyf was having his tapow-ed dinner in the kitchen. And later we sat on the sofa discussing his project and other random stuff.

Today when he came over, my dad was in the process of preparing dinner. And boyf's bag had to be drenched in barley water cos the plastic bag leaked ._.

This boy's so dumb. Where got people put tapao-ed beverage in their bag one?! Hahaha.

So we spent some time in the kitchen trying to clean up the mess. And I think my dad was kinda awkward with the 3 of us in the kitchen at the same time. So I quickly shoo-ed the boyf into my bedroom. And it was a really really wrong move.

Firstly, my dad was 'shocked' by boyf's sudden appearance and he daren't continue cooking because he didn't prepare boyf's share. Even after I told him that Dennis wasn't hungry and had already settled his dinner, dad was still at a loss and went back into his room.

It was already 7-ish and usually by that time, dinner would be ready. But dad was still in his room watching tv!!!?

I sensed something was amiss and went to ask him to cook dinner. And that we could eat while Dennis do his stuff.

It was so super awkward because dad gave me that "why your friend come without warning" look. And mumbled abit before cooking dinner.

While we were eating, I really felt like shit. Cos dad started nagging about all the stupid things like I'm not supposed to let a guy into my room (even though we left the room opened). And I cannot imagine dad not even asking boyf to join us for dinner or something?! True, there may not be enough (food), but he could at least ask, no?

I felt so bad.

Really wanted to dig a hole and hide inside, and never come out for ever.

Secondly, dad doesn't acknowledge him as my boyf. And couldn't figure out he was there. Previously he came to visit me cos I was ill. But today was just so random and out of the blue. I told dad we were doing something for his sister's birthday. And the reply I got was "next time wanna do things can do in the living room".

Seriously -_______-

I know many of you would probably think that I should just tell my dad off. Not in a bad, disrespectful way. But at least point out to him that his thinking is way too conservative and old. But I can't, I just can't.

So I guess I just have to suck it up and live with it.

If I don't wanna do something about it, then I jolly well stop complaining right?

#1236.

Three eventful days just went past and I haven't had time to sit and blog. I get out of the house early in the morning and return home feeling so exhausted that I just collapsed on my bed.

On Tuesday, boyf, Yushu & I went to help Kathy with her experiment set up. She even got her family down to school to help. It was such a big scale project that she wouldn't be able to do it by herself. So glad we could lend a helping hand.

We finally got the chance to meet her most hated PhD 'mentor'. And seriously, he's such a pain in the ass! I wouldn't have said this if not for the fact that he was belittling me. I was so upset can! He was treating me like an idiot and giving me that 'you're so stupid' look all the time!

Angry stuff aside, big scale projects are always met with setbacks. But being the ever-motivational friends we are, we were always there to help her out. On day 1, just as we were nearing the end of the day, we realised there was no power supply on the rooftop. Or rather, the powerpoint in the 'shed' was faulty. So we called up the school Estates Department and they promised to get it fixed the next day.

On day 2, power supply was up and running and we were all happy. When suddenly, Yushu said "hey, look, the tank is leaking!" All heads turned to the last tank, and indeed, water was seeping out. We immediately stopped what we were doing and went to inspect. Carried the tank to the laboratory and tried to get some help but the technician was also clueless. Boyf found a glue gun in the 'shed' and tried to seal the edges but to no avail. The sky was getting dark and there was nothing much we could do. So we went for dinner while Kathy decided to ask her dad for help.

Here are some pictures from my Twitter.

Reminds me of D&T all over again.

Experiment setup location.

Kathy's bro & boyf.
Each of these slabs weigh more than me.
Amazing weather station.

Kathy, boyf, Sabby hard at work.

Yushu helping to da3 guang1. So lame! But so funny!
Sunset on the rooftop.

I made wire names for them.
My baby and I.

And today's just The day for me. Woke up to red blotches all around my arms, legs, and face. The swelling got so bad I couldn't fully open my left eye! ): initially I thought it was insect bites cos they we're red and itchy. But on second thoughts, I doubt insects would bit my eye. And I didn't even feel anything crawling on my face the whole night!

So I went to see the doctor and he diagnosed it as hives - which is a skin allergy. I've had eczema since I was in primary school. So I sort of have sensitive skin, and swellings could be triggered by anything. Be it dust, dirt, stress, food I eat, etc. The doctor put me on steroids for 3 days and hopefully, the itch and swelling will go away soon!

Went to wiki on hives and here's what I found. It is a kind of "skin rash notable for pale red, raised, itchy bumps. Hives is frequently caused by allergic reactions; however, there are many non-allergic causes. The majority of patients with chronic hives have an unknown (idiopathic) cause."

"Less common causes of hives include friction, pressure, temperature extremes, exercise, and sunlight. Wheals (raised areas surrounded by a red base) can appear anywhere on the surface of the skin. They may be pinpoint in size, or several inches in diameter."

So there. Who wants to see a freaky me?

[Edit]
My boyf is so sweet to drop me a visit this evening! I was rather apprehensive about letting him in 'cause my dad is still not very supportive of this relationship. But he was ok when boyf came. I guess he just acknowledge boyf as 'my friend'. Good enough for me (: these things take time.

Thank you dear. Little things mean so much. And tonight will be penned down in my little red journal as one of the best nights of my life. I love you!

#1235.

This is such a traumatising day because I bumped into the boyf's ex-girlf otw to school.

The boyf and I were at Clementi this morning, making our way to school when I told him I wanted to use the escalator/elevator at the train station cause I wasn't feeling well. As we entered the lift, his ex barged in! Boyf looked at me and mouthed, "my ex!" I couldn't help but grinned.

There's such a long story behind the boyf and his ex and I shall not share it here. But the boyf has been rather 'scared' of bumping into her recently, cause of her 'death stare'. Now, it may sound funny, and I was initially amused when he told me. But the more I hear about her, the more I'm afraid of her too.

So you can imagine how nervous I was this morning!! We were in the same lift for a good 30 seconds! I was half excited about bumping into her cause I've been wanting to see how she looks like. But now that she's in front of me, I'm quite scared of her. All boyf's fault for telling me asking boyf to tell me about their story. Urgh.

And this afternoon I was scrolling through his contact list searching for YS's sister's number (why I was doing that could be a story for another day) when I came across his ex's mum's number. I don't know why I had this weird feeling. I don't know how to narrate it, so I'm just gonna put it across bluntly.

I suddenly thought about all the stuff that would be better if my mum was around. Like at least mummy could meet him. She could probably be nice to him. At least my boyf would feel like he 'belonged'?

I get so upset just thinking about it. Because his family treats me so nice, yet mine can't do likewise.

[edit]
Ok I'm feeling so much better now. After talking to sis Meh. And then chatting with bro and YS on msn for a while. Please let me be a happy me! Pretty pretty please!

#1234.

I'm blogging for 2 days in a row! I deserve a pat on my back.

So anyway, I was showering a while ago and had the urge to blog. Don't ask me why. I realise I tend to think a lot while I shower. Many a times, even get inspirations. My mind is always distracted, which may explain why sometimes I shampoo my head twice, especially in the mornings. Heh.

This morning I had a good crying session. Earlier this week, Yushu & Kathy cried because they were stressed up with school work. I was shocked, because for the 9-10 years I've known them, I've never seen them cry. For a moment I hated school. I hated how University work break us down. I had been stressed up for the past few days, coupled with the fact that I was ill, I totally couldn't take it anymore.

I called my boyf and cried.

And I'm so thankful that he was there to hear me out. To offer me some advice on how to cope with the never-ending work.

I partly blame it on e-learning week. While everyone else had to go school, I was studying for midterms slacking away. Plus, there was midterms to study for. And we all know that 'have to give myself a break after tests' phase. I was never able to catch up from then on.

Ok, enough ranting. Still gotta study come what may.

Good luck to me, and all the others (except those already smart people, you all don't need the luck) who are preparing for the finals!

Haven't been blogging for a super long time and I have tons to update. Firstly, I'm sick. Down with fever couple of days ago. The temperature went up to 38.9 degrees and I think I went into a subconscious state. I was half asleep and half awake, and I thought my boyf was beside me. In between making strange noises and trying to figure out where I was, I managed to crawl out of bed (literally). Dad gave me Panadols and put towel on my forehead to bring the temperature down.

That was about 3 nights ago but I have yet to recover. The fever has subsided. I have been taking the medicine the doctor prescribed, but I am still not well. This goes to show how weak my immunity is. Whatever it is, I will try to recover by Monday! Hopefully I can join the Animals for some fun under the sun.

I'm invited to baby Shantel's birthday party tmr. She has such a sweet name! She's my ex-colleague's first daughter and I think he sort of named her after me? Or maybe it's just coincidence. Heck, I wasn't even colleagues with him in the first place. We randomly came to know each other's existence. Oh well it's a long story. Lazy to explain.

So yup, looking at things now, it is likely that I would have to give the party a miss. And sisters are supposed to have board games tmr!! But I think it's gonna be cancelled. *cries* sis Meh is falling sick too. Hmmm, I wonder which superbug is spreading.

All the sickly news aside, I've gotten myself a smartphone! A Blackberry at $0. Great deal, even though it's the oldest version. So I'm typing all these on my BB now. The only problem is, I don't know how to type it in Blogger. Can't seem to move my cursor to the main text area. Well, not important, I can always publish to my blog when I on my laptop. BB has been really awesome because I have 1gb of data every month. So I can tweet on the go! Follow me on Twitter here. And it has a qwerty keypad which makes typing so fuss-free (and addictive)! I can tweet/sms/BBM all day long. Oh and the phone's really light as well! Weighing just 105 grams, it's lighter than boyf's iPhone. Heehee.

Ok gtg back to my books. Exams coming up in less than a month! *gulps*

P/s. Dad randomly commented "you've been dropping a lot of hair recently". I looked on the floor, there were at least 20 strands of my hair all around ):

Tried Nando's for the first time today!

It was about 7plus when we reached and there were 2 groups of people waiting in the queue. We got a seat after waiting for about ten minutes or so. We were asked if we minded the tall tables and we said we didn't. It didn't seemed uncomfortable until we sat down. Firstly, the seats were super tall. You literally had to climb. And your feet would be dangling in midair. I didn't quite mind but I guess the guys didn't like it. As reference, you need to be at least 2m (height) in order for your feet to touch the ground, while seating.

Secondly, the tables were small. They joined 2 round tables, which obviously cannot be perfectly joined. And the condiments rack took up about one-fifth of table space.

We asked to change seats to the booth kind (seats are still tall but at least the tables were bigger, and lighting brighter), and was immediately brought to a new table. But guess what, as soon as we sat down, the waiter said "sorry but this table is already taken". Poor management.

So we went back to our original table and asked for our order to be taken immediately. Hungry already, don't wanna waste time.

One Peri Platter for the 4 of us. We requested for the chicken to be half 'lemon & spice' and half 'hot'.

Additionally, this platter comes with 4 sides, which can be chosen from a list. Here's what we got: grilled vege, peri chips, spice rice, potato lime skewer (R to L).

Price:
Peri Platter $43.60
3 ice lemon tea $10.50
Total bill 54.10 + 10% + 5% = $63.70

And time for the rating:
Food 7 / 10
Nicely marinated chicken with lots of sauces provided. Sides were tasty except that the vegetables were a little on the oily side.

Ambience 5 / 10
The area where we were sitting was dimly lit. Not to mention the small round tables (sorry I had to keep emphasising on the tables because they were really small!). It was pretty cosy but kind of noisy in a way. Plus, there was one irritating housefly that kept hovering around our food. Bad.

Service 3 / 10
We kept hearing sounds of utensils being dropped. And even one of shattering glass. We presumed it must be the service crews' carelessness. Otherwise, it had to be the small tables. Had to call twice before order was being taken. Maybe they were short-handed on a Saturday night.

#1231.

It's been ages since I last rode a bike. So long ago that I took some time to steady the bicycle before I could cycle off.

Shingzers met up early this morning, looking forward for some healthy activity, but it had to rain. Kathy brought her cousin along cos she was done with PSLE and had nothing better to do. So good to be a kid huh. I've not had 'nothing better to do' since I-forgot-when. Now it's just, I need more time!

So anyway, since it rained, we went off for breakfast at Burger King first. My favourite fast food breakfast! Super oily but worth the calories I guess. Soon after breakfast the rain stopped. So we cycled for about an hour before we all left for home. Simple meet up. Didn't talk much. But still glad we all managed to take Sunday morning off for some fresh air at the park.

Happy 5th monthsary dear! ♥

Boyf's sick. But he was still super sweet to wake up early and make lunch for me (': I was away from the table for a while and came back to a surprise lunch box hanging by the side.

Pasta wrapped in cheese and bacon in cute strawberry box and matching chopsticks in a pink lunch bag. Love!

Doesn't look appetizing but I don't care, still yummy IMO!!! :D

Koi @ Clementi

Queued for Koi one morning before school. It was only 10.30am and I was number 24. There were about 5 people in front of me. So you could probably imagine how much money Koi is earning!

This is my second time trying Koi. The first being the time I had in NUS (supporting some charity booth). I tried Milk Tea first time round and it was good! I was pretty impressed. This time I bought Hazelnut Milk Tea and it wasn't as nice. Maybe because I was expecting a strong hazelnut flavour only to be disappointed. Still, the pearls were very chewy! (:

Price: $4.20 nett for large cup

Belgium Chocolate Milk Tea @ Cheers

Tried this brand of milk tea previously and it was so good! Fooled by the atas name, I decided to buy chocolate flavoured this time round.

Just one word - eeew.

Seriously, this bottle of liquid taste like diluted and sweetened version of chocolate milk. I couldn't even taste the tea at all! What a major mistake. I'm never gonna buy this again. Can't wait to try their other 2 flavours though! Both are pure tea, non-flavoured. Should be awesome!

Price: $1.50 (promotional price)

-

Gong Cha @ NUS

To support some charity event at school. Recently selling Koi and Gong Cha is such a norm in school. All the students who're doing fund-raising are using the same tactic.

Tried the milk tea and I must say the fragrance of the tea is awesome. Truly Taiwanese style (not that I've drank real Taiwanese tea before, i merely hear what others say). Indeed it's a tough fight between Koi and Gong Cha, but Koi won. Just because Gong Cha's pearls were a tad too hard, not chewy enough.

Price: $3.50 for fund-raising (unsure of retail price)

-

Gong Cha @ Plaza Singapura

Tried this on 50% sugar level because I didn't want it to be too sweet. But it was kinda like a wrong choice cos it was totally not sweet at all! Plus, the boyf didn't like the milk so we didn't stir it in. Alisan tea has a special taste to it (not exactly good at describing). And I had aiyu jelly instead of pearls. I guess the only thing I like is the aiyu jelly. Shall try other flavours next time!

Price: $3.00
